Es la
2ª película de Montgomery Clift pero la primera, Río Rojo, se retrasó en su estreno por eso ésta aparece como la primera de su filmografía y representa su debut cinematográfico.
La película se estrenó tal día como hoy,
hace justo 60 años. La repercusión que tuvo fue enorme y por ella recibiría una nominación al Oscar, convirtiéndose Montgomery Clift en uno de los únicos 6 actores que han sido nominados en su debut.
Ese mismo año se estrenaría por fin Río Rojo convirtiendo a Monty en una gran estrella a nivel mundial.
Tenía 27 años.

Muy buen blog.
Montgomery Clift fue uno de los actores más talentosos de la historia. Yo sencillamente lo amo. Tras leer dos bios en castellano que encontré con mucho esfuerzo y aún más suerte en librerías argentinas, finalmente pedí la de Bosworth por Amazon. La terminé de leer ayer a la madrugada. En medio de llanto. Creí que no iba a poder hacerlo. Mucha tristeza.
Escribí notas sobre él. Una biográfica, otra sobre The Misfits.

A mí también me costó conseguir la biografía de Patricia Bosworth. Es muy rigurosa y tiene fragmnentos tremendos sobre la atormentada vida que sufrió.
